Sean Wood is a Grade 11 student at DHS, son of Mike and Kate Wood and is Dryden’s newest outgoing Rotary exchange student.

He’s had a long time interest in the youth exchange program, applying as early as Grade 9. Unaware there was a minimum age requirement Sean finally got his break this year and passed the interview.

His destination is Sao Paulo, Brazil. Sean has already spoken to his host family who have two children, the oldest being an outbound exchange student in Mexico.  He will now be a big brother to a six year old host sister. Though he hasn’t travelled very much, Sean wants to push himself “out of his comfort zone” and experience the world.

The Rotary exchange student program is a reciprocal arrangement where Rotary Clubs sponsoring outgoing students must also be willing hosts to inbound foreign exchange students.
