James Blasé, a Partner with, Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) Consulting, and who serves clients across Manitoba and Northwest Ontario was our keynote speaker at the February 10th meeting of Dryden, Rotary.

BDC’s mission is to help businesses become stronger, more competitive and profitable. BDC is the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs. Its focus is on small and medium-sized companies from all industries, providing financial solutions, venture capital and advisory services.

BDC looks at a business as a whole – not just its financial needs. but also operational needs. The consulting services focus on three areas: increased revenue through accelerated growth, reduced costs through improved productivity and strengthened management skills by building organizational capacity.

James Blasé speaking to Dryden Rotarians, Febraury 10, 2016

Blasé told Rotarians his number one recommendation is to have a relevant plan and revisit it often so your business stays focused.

Secondly, use performance measurements. You can’t improve what you’re not measuring.

And thirdly, reach your market more effectively. It’s not about how many people “like” you on FaceBook. Instead, he said, “Use tools such as Google Analytics that tells you how long people are visiting your site rather than how many ‘hits’ you get.”

and received the "Rattle" in the form of a "Piggy Bank" from former recipient Rtn. Carl E.
