The feature speakers were six Dryden students who attended the summer 2014 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) at the Anglican Church Camp in Clear Lake, Manitoba. Each student provided a brief overview of their visit to the camp in Riding Mountain Provincial Park and thanked Rotary for sponsoring them. The comment, “It was the best week of their life” was heard from more than one of the participants.

One team project the students had to do was create a music video with lip-syncing. Two of the videos are

Exchange Student Flag Exchange

Alba Posas Solandes , Dryden’s 2014-15 exchange student, from Sant Feliu de Codines, a small town near Barcelona, Spain presented the club with the flag of Spain which she inserted into flag standard along with the flags of Canada, the USA, Ontario and Dryden.

Alba then cut a cake decorated with the flag of Spain and the RYLA students served it to the Rotarians in attendance.

Sergeant at Arms entertains Rotarians with fun fines.

While Brian Kenny spends his summers back in Dryden, he entertains us as the “Fines” Sergeant. During the past week the club had held their annual golf outing. Brian admitted that on one T-off he failed to knock the ball as far as the Women’s T-off location, at which Rotarian Joanne M. told him he should be wearing his ”shorts” on the outside.

With that Kenny pulled out a pair of boxer shorts and put them on “the outside” to the delight of his audience.
