Brian Braid Vocational talkAt our November 16th meeting Rtn Brian Braid accepted the challenge of doing his "Vocation" talk as a last minute replacement for Dr Hofer who was called into emergency surgery.

Braid began with a brief background on his parents who shaped the person he has become. Brian was born in Calgary but family moved to Montreal while still a youngster. After completing high school, he went on to Queens University where he got a chemical engineering degree.

Upon graduation, he landed a job with Anglo-Canadian and ended up at the Dryden Paper Mill in the early 70s. While here he met his wife Bernice and they were married in 1973 and are now the proud parents of two daughters and 4 grandchildren.

Upon the departure of former Rtn Ted Broadhurst, Brian became mill manager in the early 90s. After less then 4 years, he was transferred to Ottawa to work in the technical development program. A short while later, he was transferred to Mill Manager in Liverpool , Nova Scotia where he finished his career in 2008.

With retirment the Braids decided they wished to be closer to theirchildren, but not in their back pocket came back to Dryden where they have family and friends.

Brian loves to golf, curl, and fish in his spare time.
