Appearing calm, after solving equipment problems, Rtn Andi Kidd took us through the short version of her life story with the judicious use of a PowerPoint presentation.

Andi was born and raised in Winnipeg with 2 brothers and a sister. She went to public and high school in the city and was an active participant in many sports. We even got a glimpse of her first car, a VW Rabbit.

After finishing high school she headed for Europe. Upon her return she ended up in Banff waitressing.

Eventually, family life started for Andi and she had the first grandchild in the family when Jayden was born. A few years later, Liam followed.

At that point Andi decided that the post secondary education she has passed on earlier could come in handy to help raise a family so she enrolled at the University of Manitoba, and after getting a degree in education she taught for a couple of years at Peguis Reserve.  The family next moved to Ignace where she taught for 5 years.

In 2004 she moved to Dryden where she worked for Confederation  College and the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board before taking her present job with the City of Dryden as the Community Projects and Program Developer.

Kidd now helps with the coordination of many community and special events ...such as the Centennial Air Show, Winterfest, and the Dryden Youth Centre. More recently, she has added music and art lessons at the Pool & Fitness Centre to the many programs offered there.
