Applying for a Dryden Rotary Charity Foundation Grant

Who can Apply?

 
To be eligible to receive funds from the DRCF, your organization must meet the following criteria:
 
1.  Your organization MUST be a registered charitable organization or a non-profit organization. Your organization may direct your charitable works towards specific segments of the community or individuals with a common need, provided that:  
  • more than a few individuals benefit
  • the charitable benefit must be accessible to the public at large
 
2.  Your organization MUST have charitable purposes and objectives that fall within one of the four classifications of a charity:
 
A. The relief of poverty
B. The advancement of education
C. The advancement of religion
D. Other charitable purposes beneficial to the community, not falling under A, B, or C.
This may include:
  • arts and cultural activities;
  • cultural, ethnic, native, historic or heritage pursuits;
  • the improvement of the quality of health through medical research;
  • treatment programs and preventative programs;
  • youth sporting activities and
  • community projects by service organizations.
 
3.  Your organization MUST demonstrate that you have carried out charitable activities consistent with your mandate for a minimum of one year. You must also provide evidence of direct benefit to Ontario residents at large.
 
4.  Your organization MAY also be requested to submit a copy of your formal documents which constitute your organization including Letters Patent, constitution, and/or memorandum of association. Informal associations that have not adopted formal written constituting documents are not eligible.

If your organization meets the application criteria:
 
1.  Complete the Dryden Rotary Charity Foundation application form (available in Word and PDF formats).
 
2. Mail your application to:

You are free to provide additional material with your application or DRCF may request supporting documentation to assist in the assessment of your application.

When to Apply

Submit your DRCF application as early as possible. It will be reviewed at the next scheduled DRCF meeting.
 
DRCF normally meets three times per year (usually February, May and November).
 
The Board of Directors will review applications at each meeting and applicants will be notified, in writing, of the Board’s decision.
