At a recent gathering of Dryden Rotarians, club president Patty Vann received a certificate from District 5550 Governor, Fred Wright, in recognition of the Dryden club's contributions to PolioPlus.
The PolioPlus initative was launched by Rotary International in 1985 and was the first and largest internationally coordinated private-sector support of a public health initiative. The eradication of polio is one of Rotary International's longest standing and most significant efforts. Along with its partners, Rotary has helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries and reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide.
